Anne Frank’s diary
included a variety of characters that she lived with in secret. Choose one of the other characters from the
Secret Annex and write at least 3 journal entries from their perspective. What was it like to live in the annex? How did they arrive there? What was the interaction between the
character you chose and the other characters?
What was Anne like from your character’s perspective?.
One of the characters that Anne seemed to have a more connection in the hiding place was Peter. Peter was a young boy who was two year older than Anne but Anne falls in love with him. She has a good time with him. Peter moved inside the hiding place the same day that Anne and her family moved in. In her journal Anne describes the time she spend with Peter and her feeling towards him.

Dear Kitty,...I noticed his shy manner and it made me very gentle...Suddenly Peter's eyes met mine and I looked into those fine, velvet brown eyes for a long time. Then Peter said very softly, "if I had only known, I would have come to you long before". I turned around brusquely because the emotion was to much for me. And after that I felt a soft, and oh, such a cool kind cheek against mine and it felt so good, so good.

Dear Kitty,... "Peter was a very good looking boy, tall,, handsome, and slime,, with earnest, calm, intelligent face. He had dark hair and wonderful brown eyes, ruddy cheeks, and a pointed nose...he looked so mischievous and naughty.

Dear Kitty,... Now I understand more why he always hug Mouschi. He needs some affection, too, of course. I forgotten something else that he talked about. He said "I don't know what fear is, except when I think of my own short comings. But am getting over that to." Peter has a terrible inferiority complex. For instance, he always thinks that he is stupid, and we are so clever.
In her diary part where she writes about Peter there always seem to be a time where the both understand one another. They both have good times with each other.
